Samsung S5600 Blade - Hot Phone, Bad Battery

Blackberry phones are really popular and the design is being sought of because of its easiness to handle and use. Having a complete QWERTY keypad on the face of the phone makes it look quite sophisticated though. It also looks ugly to some, it looks like a honeycomb. However, aside from its appearance the keypads really do add usability. It’s got all the things you need in front of you. It's got shortcut buttons that will run the applications that you need.

What I have here in this review isn't a Blackberry phone, it's a new Samsung Touchscreen phone. This touchscreen phone has great usability and is simpler and more usable than having all complete shortcuts and all buttons together on the face of the mobilephone.

This is the new Samsung Blade S5600v. The Samsung Blade S5600v is amazingly easy and comfortable to use. It doesn't have complicated buttons and also has an excellent user interface which also emphasizes usability. It's practically a spoon feed mobilephone with great looks! Here are the details for this great phone.

Design
The Samsung S5600v Blade has almost the design features as that of the Samsung S5800 Jet, only that the latter is longer. Its overall size is only 102.8 x 54.8 x 12.9 mm, it only weighs 92 grams too. It has a 2.8 Inch 16 Million Colour Touch Screen displaying 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The screen has excellent display quality. The screen is exposed on the front and it only has three buttons. On the left is the call button, the center is the cancel button and the last one is the end call button. The big middle buttons is very useful. It's the only button you'd press when you're browsing or navigating the mobilephone.

The user interface is also very easy. It is user friendly and it has 3 different screens. You can swipe it to the sides to reveal the other screens. The three screens gives more freedom to customize it to you liking since of course, one screen won’t fit all the widgets that you would like to add.

Multimedia
The Samsung S5600v Blade has multimedia features that you will like. It's got a decent music player which can play MP3, AAC and WMA. It has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) which makes sound quality good.

You can watch MPEG4, H263, H264 and WMV formats on its Video Player. You can also play and download games for your entertainment.

Messaging
The Samsung S5600v Blade supports SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging), sending and receiving aren’t a problem. You can also send and receive Emails.

Calling
Calling on the Samsung S5600v is as good as any smartphone. It has Quad Band network connectivity, utilizing four frequencies in GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. This means the phone is great for roaming allowing you to have great connectivity even in between countries.

It has 3G HSDPA (HSDPA 900 and 2100) which is efficient and makes Video Calling smooth and fast.

Camera
The Samsung S5600v Blade has great camera features and it is great for taking pictures on occasions and other important unforgettable moments. It has a 3.2 Megapixel camera. It has LED Flash, Auto Focus and Smile Detection. It can also record video clips in 15 frames per second.

Internet
The Samsung Blade has great Internet connectivity and is an ideal phone for browsing. It’s got GPRS technology which is now the usual connectivity implemented in mobile phones. The phone has EDGE technology which is 4x faster than GPRS, currently the fastest technology that transfers data efficiently. It's got a WAP 2.0, XHTML and HTML browser too which displays almost like the desktop browser.

Memory
It is capable of storing 50GB of files, messages, songs, videos, etc. It has MicroSD memory card support up to 8GB.

Battery
Having all these great features, it is a great phone to have… except that it only has 2 hours talk time or 250 hours standby.

Overall, it is quite a disappointment when it came to its battery life. The battery life is also what makes or breaks a mobilephone. If you’re interested in other phones such as the more favorable Samsung Jet, you can get it on cheap Samsung S8000 mobilephone Jet offers. They are easily available on the Internet and you also get a free Samsung S5600 Blade mobilephone deal.

Digital Cameras Vs Camera Phones

Taking pictures is easy but taking beautiful pictures is another story. Anyone can point and shoot pictures, but not everyone can capture amazing photos – photos that inspire, gives an awe and not just looking pretty. This is the difference between tourist, amateur photographer and a pro.

It sure looks easy to take pictures but conceptualizing and thinking about what and how to do those pictures is hard work. There are a lot of online tutorials on the Internet and you can proceed to learn the basics. With motivation, great interest and hard work you'll be taking pictures like a pro. But even though a lot of people say that skills matters most - high quality matters a lot too especially if you're after for modern style photography or macro photography.

However, if you're just a regular John like me – its enough to take good quality shots and show them off to friends. Take pictures of beautiful places, people and unforgettable moments. Upload them on the Internet and put them on Social Sites for all to see.

I've got a list of Cameras that are pretty cheap for a regular guy/girl (like me). They've got good camera features to take clear shots.

Canon PowerShot A480
  • this one has a MultiMedia Card and SD Memory Card support
  • This is a mid range camera, affordable, point and shoot and has a fast response
  • Digital zoom 4x
  • weighs 140g,
  • has an Optical zoom 3.3x
  • and has a resolution of 10 Megapixels
  • it's pretty cheap around £75 or more

Nikon D90
  • This camera has an optical viewfinder
  • This is an DSLR, obviously
  • supports SD Memory Card
  • pretty heavy in 620g
  • it's got 12.3 Megapixels resolution
  • it's a high priced camera, it costs around £600 or more

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1
  • just point and shoot, careful with the zoom and shutter buttons though
  • It has MultiMedia Card support
  • Optical zoom is 4.6x
  • Its got 12.1 Megapixels resolution
  • weighs 162.5g
  • has digital zoom 4x
  • it is built to last, a practical camera
  • It costs around £240 or more

These are the ones I recommend. One is a mid range mobilephone – affordable, average features, fast. The second is a tested and trusted DSLR camera – high powered, focused, heavy duty and is great for beginner photographers. The third is an all purpose camera – durable, good features, portable. If you're saving money, its best to get these cameras from online deals. Online deals offer lots of discount and gives great free gifts.

If you're a mobilephone enthusiast, you would notice that the camera resolutions are now also available to mobilephones. Mobilephone companies are now racing towards who gets the best camera features packed inside a tiny mobilephone. There are touchscreen phones with 12 megapixels, a slider with 8 megapixels camera and even a 5 Megapixel with Carl Zeiss Lens and Xenon Flash takes better pictures than those with higher resolutions.

It's convenient to have a camera and a mobilephone in one device. It saves space and very convenient too. If you're interested in those, these are three mobilephones that I urge you to take a look at. They got the best features of a digital camera that a mobilephone can take.

Samsung Pixon12 M8910
  • This is the latest camera focused mobilephone
  • It has a 12 Megapixel camera
  • It has Auto Focus System
  • Flash: Power LED Flash and Xenon Flash
  • It's got a nifty Smile Detection feature
  • It can record videos in 30 fps, quite smooth
  • Has 150 Mbytes plus MicroSD Memory Card Support that can go up to 16 Gbytes
  • costs around £500 or more

LG KC780 Reina
  • An excellent phone besides its camera features
  • It only has 8 Megapixel Camera
  • Schneider Kreuznach Optics
  • Slim body, weighs 119 g and 107 x 52 x 14 mm
  • Has a Flash
  • Auto Focus
  • Face Detection
  • Has Image Stabiliser and Light Sensitive Capture
  • Surprisingly good at taking pictures
  • costs around £140 and more

Sony Ericsson C903
  • good phone for overall performance and features
  • Only has 5 Megapixel Camera but its a Cyber-Shot Camera
  • Its got a 16 x Digital Zoom
  • it has Auto Focus
  • cool features added are Face Detection, Smile Shutter, Image Stabiliser, Photo Fix and BestPic
  • It has a Flash, not very bright but good enough
  • It has 130 Mbytes Memory plus Memory Stick Micro Support
  • costs around £400 or more

You can browse online for free line rental contract deals which is very common... I mean theres a lot of them. You can easily find the best cheap Samsung mobilephone offers or with any Network that offers great discounts.

LG KM900 Arena - Elegant And Stylish

It's been months since the LG KM900 Arena was released. Does the LG KM900 Arena lived up to its expectation?

LG is busier than ever right now, creating new and attractive mobilephones released month after month. The LG KM900 Arena has sold a lot after its release, already 1 million sold worldwide. It's also one of the best looking phones that only LG could make.

So what is the LG KM900 Arena, exactly? We will attempt to answer that as briefly as possible.

Design
The LG KM900 Arena is of course a very attractive phone, it looks simple yet astonishing especially once you've booted it up and see its beautifully made UI. It's small, slim and feels good to hold! It's got a 105.9 x 55.3 x 12 mm size and weighs pretty solid in 105 grams.

It is a touchscreen phone and it has a large one indeed. It has a 3 inch TFT 262k colour touch screen displaying in 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It has the 3D Cube UI, the so called S Class UI, where the screen is nicely separated and neatly organized into 4 different sides each with its dedicated features and related applications. This makes the touchscreen exceptionally more useful than ever before.
However, the navigation of menus takes a little getting used to and there are a number of latency issues with the phone, for example, texting can be tedious due to a delay in registering the letter to the screen, if you are a quick typer then this can frustrate you.

Camera
The LG KM900 Arena can be your favorite digital camera. The phone only has a 5 megapixel camera, definitely not a powerful camera but enough to take good quality pictures – even better than higher spec'd mobilephones. It has Auto Focus, Flash, Camera Key, has a Photo Album and of course it can Video Record. The pictures come out much better and clearer on the Arena. Although, the only drawback is when taking the photo, you have to keep the phone still until the picture is saved.

Communication
The LG KM900 Arena is a smartphone and it serves as one very beautifully. It's got SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging). You can, of course , easily access your Emails and it's surprising easy to set it up. It only has a Tri Band Network which uses GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 frequencies. This is never a problem if you're just roaming around UK or in the USA, other countries too but be sure that they allow the three frequencies. It has a 3G Video Call feature uses HSDPA 2100.

Internet

The LG KM900 has GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi. With its easy to navigate screen, the WAP XHTML and HTML Browser, this makes Internet Surfing a very enjoyable experience.
When connecting to other devices, the LG KM900 Arena has a Bluetooth and USB.

Multimedia
The LG KM900 Arena mobilephone has a decent music player as well as a video player. There really aren't any high end multimedia features that it can boast but it’s got good enough functionality that will get the job done. It has a Music Player which supports MP3 and AAC format and an FM Radio to keep you from getting bored.

Memory
The phone can store 8 Gb Memory of pictures, video and data files, but it can be expanded further more as it has MicroSD card support up to 16GB which is more than enough for your favorite music album. It doesn't have a music tweaking feature but it plays audio well, good enough to pass a casual user that is.

Battery
The phone's battery power is also good and can average around 4 hours talk time and roughly 3000 hours standby.

The LG KM900 Arena is very elegant and stylish. It comes with a whole bag full of features. However, the greatest disappointment of users is its slow or rather delayed response. Almost everything takes a little while to take effect or even confirm that you did something with it. But when you get used to it, it’s really not that much of a bother.

The LG KM900 Arena is a popular phone and naturally has a lot of cheap mobile phone contract deals. You can also find a lot of free LG KM900 Arena cashback offers on the Internet.

Useful, Beautiful But Cheap - Nokia 6288

Newer phones are costly and older phones are... well, cheaper! Anyway, it depends entirely on what you really need. If you just want a decent slider phone with an alright usability and capability, plus if you prefer a Nokia phone, then I'd recommend the Nokia 6288.

This phone is equipped with balanced features and looks good too. It is has a slider form and its easily preferable than buying over priced designer phones with the same specs. And if you want discounts, you should compare Nokia 6288 free line rental deals that are on the Internet. Not that you'd find a deal like that on the high streets though. Also, you should follow the deal closely to get the real advantage, its a bit of a hassle but considering what you get, it is worth it. Even free Vodafone line rental discounts are worth the meticulous deal follow up.

Anyway, here are the specs and details on the Nokai 6288.

Design:
The Nokia 6288 is quite a charmer, it looks sleek and attractive. It is a slider phone, looks clean and simple. It has a 100 x 46 x 21 mm size, weighs pretty heavy in 115 grams. The weight and size of the Nokia 6288 gives it a solid feel but feels a little fragile when you hold it as the slider mechanism is a bit loose.

The phone has a bright 262k QVGA color screen in 320 x 240 pixels resolution. It's big and it displays clear images, watching videos or just viewing pictures is great. Just below the large screen is the keypads. The keypads is Nokia standard, ergonomic and easy to navigate. The four way navigation is just great and response is good when you use it. You can choose from 2 themes, black and white, both have glossy look which adds more attractiveness to the phone.

Camera:
The Nokia 6288 only has an average 2 Megapixel Camera, only has a Digital Zoom functionality and a Flash.

Multimedia:
Multimedia is pretty good with the Nokia 6288. It has a Music Player that is able to play MP3, MP4, AAC and eAAC+. The phone also has a video player, for you to enjoy viewing your movies or videos that you have taken. You can also watch online videos through 3GPP Video Streaming. The phone doesn't have an FM feature... bad news to music lovers. The Nokia 5000 has fun embedded games for you to enjoy. There are also a lot of games available for the user to download online. It is also capable of 3D games that you'd probably want to play.

Calling and messaging:
Calling your friends, family or workmates on the Nokia 6288 even in between countires is not a problem. It supports Tri Band GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 and WCDMA 2100. However, if you're on Internet connectivity, the phone is amazingly great. It has EGPRS which allows fast data rate transfers making Internet browsing a breeze.

Fast texters will also be very pleased with the Nokia 6288. It has the all the basic messaging capability a phone should have. It can do SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging). It also has a predictive text functionality which is most preferred by busy texters. The keypad is exceptionally good not just on the looks, its big, easy to press and quite durable – a Nokia standard. Even if the keypad break, keypads on shops are cheap and you'll find it easy to replace.

Battery:
It kind of sucks on the memory department, it can only have 12 Mbytes of memory. It doesn't have any memory card support so don't get your hopes up. For a low feature phone, it does use more energy than we expected. It has a 4.5 Hours Talk Time or 250 Hours Standby which is just average.

Radio phone from Nokia - Nokia 5030 XpressRadio

This is the new Nokia 5030 XpressRadio. It is a music performance focused mobilephone and just as the name suggests, it is a Radio focused phone. It is made to receive Radio Frequencies effectively and efficiently making Radio broadcasts almost un-interruptible and clearly heard… still depends on location but its definitely better than your average Radio device.

Now if you’re a mobilephone entrepreneur or just a mobilephone enthusiast, you’ll easily compare this to a Sony Ericsson R series. The Sony Ericsson R series are also a Radio performance focused mobilephone. There really isn’t much of a difference on the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio and the Sony Ericsson R series. The price range is also very close to compare but I think the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio will have a lot more free mobilephone cashback offers once it is officially released. You can also check for cheap Vodafone line rental contract deals online as they are far more cheaper or rather have more discount than the ones found on the high streets.

Anyway, here’s what the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio has to offer.

Design:

The Nokia 5030 XpressRadio isn't much of looker but its decent enough to bring out on a party. It has a pretty good screen for its use, it has a 1.8 Inch TFT 65k Colour Screen. It displays 128 x 160 pixels resolution.

Messaging:

As a messaging phone, its decent enough to receive SMS messages. You can store up to 250 messages. Don't let it go that many though, it would probably slow down the phone like most of them do.

Entertainment:

For entertainment, you can play games. Although the games are classic, its still is a good past time. They are Beach Rally, Snake Xenzia and the Brain twister Soduku. You can also download games and install them on this phone.

Sound:

As you've already guessed, this is where the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio is about. The 5030 has a Dedicated Radio and Station Selection keys ready for you to press. This is where its name get it, express radio as in easy access radio... not that ground breaking huh? I know.

Anyway, its got a, of course, FM Radio for your entertainment and news source. You can also set it as an Alarm.

Calling:

When calling, the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio is just like any other low end phone. It has Dual Band, not that surprising really. As long as you're inside the UK or USA, signal isn't a problem.

Memory:

Since it doesn't have much features to even make use of a memory space except messages... this phone has a 64MB memory.

Battery:

The Nokia 5030 XpressRadio can last up to 10 hours of talk time. Long lasting, but its expected since its a low end phone after all. Not much energy consumption as it doesn't have much features anywyay except the Radio of course.

Well, that is all about this Nokia 5030 XpressRadio. If you're not into high tech stuff or just want a phone to call and send messages (except Email), then this phone is good for you. It is cheap too! (not surprising)

Promising Phone? Probably Not - Samsung S3500 Marcel

The Samsung S3500 is a mid range mobilephone. Its a stainless steel slider which is quite a beaut. However, comparing it with phones that has the same price range... the Samsung S3500 somewhat fall below standards. There's not yet a full specification for this phone though, so there might be more to it than it looks. This phone's only special feature is its safety mechanism, other than that the Nokia 6300 mobilephone easily beats this phone. There doesn't seem to be any free Samsung S3500 Marcel deals available anytime soon and I don't think we can expect much. Cheap t-mobile line rental cashback offers are abundant and maybe you can get a better deal on the Samsung S3500 Marcel than other phones will have, so try checking it out every now and then.

Anyway, here are the details for this phone.

The Samsung S3500 Marcel has a slider form, its is pretty slim an is 99.9 x 48 x 14.3 mm in size and its quite heavy since its got a full metallic cover. Because of its slim size the phone is very easy to hold and keep in your pocket, you can bring it anywhere with ease. The casing design looks a bit like the Samsung U900 Soul, so if you're interested in having the U900 but don't have the cash then you could get this phone instead.

It has a bright screen and better than earlier phones, it is a 2.2 Inch 16 Million Colour TFT Screen in 320 x 240 pixels resolution. Slide it open and reveal the keypads, they are ergonomically designed to suit your need for sending messages faster and easier.

The Samsung S3500 Marcel is more on basic all around usability, so you can expect this phone to fare well in terms of calling, messaging or multimedia. It has an good Music Player has good audio output allowing you to listen to your favorite songs without losing quality. The phone can play MP3, AAC and WMA . The phone has a MicroSD memory card so you can add more music into this phone. Its got an FM Radio too. You can watch videos and I hope it has video streaming, so we can see videos online.

Calling is efficient and comfortable with the Samsung S3500 Marcel. It has a Quad Band network connectivity, certainly is enough to have good calls and keep having good signals even in between countries. It has GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 frequencies, switching between them is automatic so you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Communication is the main purpose of mobilephones and the Samsung S3500 Marcel delivers it pretty well. The S3500 Marcel can receive and send SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging) as well as Email. It has predictive text too, good for those who are used to it... if not, you should see tutorials online. Trust me, its easy and it will improve your texting speed.

The connectivity of the Samsung Marcel is fast and efficient. It has Bluetooth with A2DP and USB support for convenient file transfers. This also makes the S3500 compatible to USB and Bluetooth add-on devices such as Bluetooth Wireless Headsets.

The Samsung S3500 Marcel is also a good phone if you're planning on using this phone as an Internet device or PDA. Its connectivity is powered by fast technologies such as GPRS and EDGE. This technology allows you to have a very fast data rate transfer allowing you to have smooth and fast Internet connection. This allows you to have download speeds like that of a broadband connection. You can browse the Net easier and safer using its WAP 2.0 XHTML and HTML browsers.

And as a PDA like feature, you can view documents. Formats supported are Microsoft's, they are of course Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You can also view PDF files.

Sadly, the Samsung S3500 doesn't have a powerful camera. The 2 megapixel camera on the Samsung Marcel is just average when compared to most of today's latest phone cameras but to me, its to me its good enough for casual use. I don't think its got Video Calling because there isn't any secondary VGA camera on the front.

Well thats all for now. I think this phone will have a better price in order to be more competitive when it comes out in the UK as there are far more better phones with cheaper prices than this one.
