Samsung S5600 Blade - Hot Phone, Bad Battery

Blackberry phones are really popular and the design is being sought of because of its easiness to handle and use. Having a complete QWERTY keypad on the face of the phone makes it look quite sophisticated though. It also looks ugly to some, it looks like a honeycomb. However, aside from its appearance the keypads really do add usability. It’s got all the things you need in front of you. It's got shortcut buttons that will run the applications that you need.

What I have here in this review isn't a Blackberry phone, it's a new Samsung Touchscreen phone. This touchscreen phone has great usability and is simpler and more usable than having all complete shortcuts and all buttons together on the face of the mobilephone.

This is the new Samsung Blade S5600v. The Samsung Blade S5600v is amazingly easy and comfortable to use. It doesn't have complicated buttons and also has an excellent user interface which also emphasizes usability. It's practically a spoon feed mobilephone with great looks! Here are the details for this great phone.

Design
The Samsung S5600v Blade has almost the design features as that of the Samsung S5800 Jet, only that the latter is longer. Its overall size is only 102.8 x 54.8 x 12.9 mm, it only weighs 92 grams too. It has a 2.8 Inch 16 Million Colour Touch Screen displaying 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The screen has excellent display quality. The screen is exposed on the front and it only has three buttons. On the left is the call button, the center is the cancel button and the last one is the end call button. The big middle buttons is very useful. It's the only button you'd press when you're browsing or navigating the mobilephone.

The user interface is also very easy. It is user friendly and it has 3 different screens. You can swipe it to the sides to reveal the other screens. The three screens gives more freedom to customize it to you liking since of course, one screen won’t fit all the widgets that you would like to add.

Multimedia
The Samsung S5600v Blade has multimedia features that you will like. It's got a decent music player which can play MP3, AAC and WMA. It has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) which makes sound quality good.

You can watch MPEG4, H263, H264 and WMV formats on its Video Player. You can also play and download games for your entertainment.

Messaging
The Samsung S5600v Blade supports SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging), sending and receiving aren’t a problem. You can also send and receive Emails.

Calling
Calling on the Samsung S5600v is as good as any smartphone. It has Quad Band network connectivity, utilizing four frequencies in GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. This means the phone is great for roaming allowing you to have great connectivity even in between countries.

It has 3G HSDPA (HSDPA 900 and 2100) which is efficient and makes Video Calling smooth and fast.

Camera
The Samsung S5600v Blade has great camera features and it is great for taking pictures on occasions and other important unforgettable moments. It has a 3.2 Megapixel camera. It has LED Flash, Auto Focus and Smile Detection. It can also record video clips in 15 frames per second.

Internet
The Samsung Blade has great Internet connectivity and is an ideal phone for browsing. It’s got GPRS technology which is now the usual connectivity implemented in mobile phones. The phone has EDGE technology which is 4x faster than GPRS, currently the fastest technology that transfers data efficiently. It's got a WAP 2.0, XHTML and HTML browser too which displays almost like the desktop browser.

Memory
It is capable of storing 50GB of files, messages, songs, videos, etc. It has MicroSD memory card support up to 8GB.

Battery
Having all these great features, it is a great phone to have… except that it only has 2 hours talk time or 250 hours standby.

Overall, it is quite a disappointment when it came to its battery life. The battery life is also what makes or breaks a mobilephone. If you’re interested in other phones such as the more favorable Samsung Jet, you can get it on cheap Samsung S8000 mobilephone Jet offers. They are easily available on the Internet and you also get a free Samsung S5600 Blade mobilephone deal.

Digital Cameras Vs Camera Phones

Taking pictures is easy but taking beautiful pictures is another story. Anyone can point and shoot pictures, but not everyone can capture amazing photos – photos that inspire, gives an awe and not just looking pretty. This is the difference between tourist, amateur photographer and a pro.

It sure looks easy to take pictures but conceptualizing and thinking about what and how to do those pictures is hard work. There are a lot of online tutorials on the Internet and you can proceed to learn the basics. With motivation, great interest and hard work you'll be taking pictures like a pro. But even though a lot of people say that skills matters most - high quality matters a lot too especially if you're after for modern style photography or macro photography.

However, if you're just a regular John like me – its enough to take good quality shots and show them off to friends. Take pictures of beautiful places, people and unforgettable moments. Upload them on the Internet and put them on Social Sites for all to see.

I've got a list of Cameras that are pretty cheap for a regular guy/girl (like me). They've got good camera features to take clear shots.

Canon PowerShot A480
  • this one has a MultiMedia Card and SD Memory Card support
  • This is a mid range camera, affordable, point and shoot and has a fast response
  • Digital zoom 4x
  • weighs 140g,
  • has an Optical zoom 3.3x
  • and has a resolution of 10 Megapixels
  • it's pretty cheap around £75 or more

Nikon D90
  • This camera has an optical viewfinder
  • This is an DSLR, obviously
  • supports SD Memory Card
  • pretty heavy in 620g
  • it's got 12.3 Megapixels resolution
  • it's a high priced camera, it costs around £600 or more

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1
  • just point and shoot, careful with the zoom and shutter buttons though
  • It has MultiMedia Card support
  • Optical zoom is 4.6x
  • Its got 12.1 Megapixels resolution
  • weighs 162.5g
  • has digital zoom 4x
  • it is built to last, a practical camera
  • It costs around £240 or more

These are the ones I recommend. One is a mid range mobilephone – affordable, average features, fast. The second is a tested and trusted DSLR camera – high powered, focused, heavy duty and is great for beginner photographers. The third is an all purpose camera – durable, good features, portable. If you're saving money, its best to get these cameras from online deals. Online deals offer lots of discount and gives great free gifts.

If you're a mobilephone enthusiast, you would notice that the camera resolutions are now also available to mobilephones. Mobilephone companies are now racing towards who gets the best camera features packed inside a tiny mobilephone. There are touchscreen phones with 12 megapixels, a slider with 8 megapixels camera and even a 5 Megapixel with Carl Zeiss Lens and Xenon Flash takes better pictures than those with higher resolutions.

It's convenient to have a camera and a mobilephone in one device. It saves space and very convenient too. If you're interested in those, these are three mobilephones that I urge you to take a look at. They got the best features of a digital camera that a mobilephone can take.

Samsung Pixon12 M8910
  • This is the latest camera focused mobilephone
  • It has a 12 Megapixel camera
  • It has Auto Focus System
  • Flash: Power LED Flash and Xenon Flash
  • It's got a nifty Smile Detection feature
  • It can record videos in 30 fps, quite smooth
  • Has 150 Mbytes plus MicroSD Memory Card Support that can go up to 16 Gbytes
  • costs around £500 or more

LG KC780 Reina
  • An excellent phone besides its camera features
  • It only has 8 Megapixel Camera
  • Schneider Kreuznach Optics
  • Slim body, weighs 119 g and 107 x 52 x 14 mm
  • Has a Flash
  • Auto Focus
  • Face Detection
  • Has Image Stabiliser and Light Sensitive Capture
  • Surprisingly good at taking pictures
  • costs around £140 and more

Sony Ericsson C903
  • good phone for overall performance and features
  • Only has 5 Megapixel Camera but its a Cyber-Shot Camera
  • Its got a 16 x Digital Zoom
  • it has Auto Focus
  • cool features added are Face Detection, Smile Shutter, Image Stabiliser, Photo Fix and BestPic
  • It has a Flash, not very bright but good enough
  • It has 130 Mbytes Memory plus Memory Stick Micro Support
  • costs around £400 or more

You can browse online for free line rental contract deals which is very common... I mean theres a lot of them. You can easily find the best cheap Samsung mobilephone offers or with any Network that offers great discounts.
